New teachers

We are recruting new teachers now.
The new term is starting from October and more fresh students are coming.
There will be more classes,too:-)
I can't wait to see our new students:-D
Their dream of coming to Japan has come true!
I want to welcome them warmly, but be also strict for them.
We, teachers are so excited to see new students,
 and our current students are looking forward to seeing new teachers and students!

Redecoration

We redecorated our school a little.
There was nothing in the lounge before and the library looked a bit too serious.
 Now it looks more cozy, I hope.
 And in the library, you can feel the warmth of wood!!

We are going to change the decoration little by little.
I get along better with my work when the environment changes.
I'll try not to be a teacher who's always redecorating somewhere;;

We have end-of-term examination soon, on Sep 9th, so I need to make our students
to concentrate on their study more!

How to spend the summer

Everyone has each way to enjoy the summer.
It's not that hot this year and much more comfortable than usual.
Students are thinking about what they will do during vacation.
Some of them already went to some festivals.

Our Korean students joined a festival in Koenji the other day.
They were surprised at the Japanese people begin dancing in the same way when the music started.
Most of Japanese people know how to dance' Bon-odori'.
I don't know exactly why I know it. I think it's similar to 'folk dance' for Eastern people.

And I went to watch a baseball game!

It was a cool night and I was outside watching baseball with beer and Edamame in my hands...

  They set off fireworks.
I had a great time and I hope I can have more nice memory for this summer.

Summer Program 2011

It's been a while since I last wrote somethhing here.

The summer program has started!

I expected the weather to be very hot and thought I would have a hard time taking students around.

But.. I didn't know it can be such cool in summer here. Well, 'cool' might be too exaggerated, but

still it's much better than last year.

To see the parade of this summer, you definitely needed a towel.

They have sweet smile on their faces, but actually they were saying some complaints, too:-)
' It's difficult to walk.' ' Too tight to eat something..'
I hope they still liked Yukata:-D

 We also went to Fujikyu-Highland.
They were telling me they were not scared, but I doubt so.
They were shouting 'NOOOOOOO' , ' I'M SOOOORRYYY' or something like that.
I had a cold at that time and my voice was hoarse, but I still made some shouts while riding.
I guess now I know why my voice doesn't get better.
Our students for summer program seem to be having a good time.
That's all that matters to me:-)

Star festival

ささのはさらさら　のきばにゆれる
おほしさまきらきら　きんぎんすなご

ごしきのたんざく　わたしがかいた
おほしさまきらきら　そらからみてる

July 7th was a day called 'the star festival' in Japan.
I heard that the story was introduced into Japan from China.
There are a woman called 'Orihime' and a man called 'Hikoboshi' across the river and they can see
each other only once a year.
Let me skip the details....
Our students wrote down their wish and decorated on the bamboo leaves which we borrowed from
Japan Electronics college.

They were supposed to write only one wish,but didn't listened to me...:-(
I glanced at the paper amd found so many kinds of wishes.
' I want my family to keep their health.'
' I want a pretty Japanese girl friend.'
' I want to be successful.'
' I want to join Gekidan Shiki.'

' I want to enjoy taking a walk in Japan.'

I wrote a wish for myself,too.
' I want to meet great students and teachers.'
And ofcourse I also wished the rivival of Japan.

July

It's the first day of July today. The rainy season hasn't finished here in Japan,
but it's like summer already. Not only because it's July now, but also because
it's been so hot these days.
Last year, it was unbelievably hot. I hope it will be cooler and less humid this year...
It's kind of a serious problem since we need to economize on electricity this summer.
I've never seen Tokyo people trying to save electricity such seriously before.
When I went to buy an electric fan, there were so many people gathering to buy one.
I heard that some of electorical stores are out of them now.
I think it's a very good thing to try to save electrocity^^
It's been years since Japanese government started 'Cool Biz' , trying to let people wear something more
casual and cool on business in summer. It's been fruitless, but this year.
It seems many companies are now introducing it to reduce their electricity use.
I myself am trying to use an electric fan as often as possible to cut it down.

The sad thing is some fireworks festivals have been called off because of the disaster that
happend on March,11th. I think they shouldn't cancel that kind of things especially in times like this.
I heard firework makers are having really hard time by that.




 Beautiful, isn't it? Tokyo bay fireworks festival isn't going to be held this year, but Sumida river fireworks festival is. I'm looking forward to watching Tokyo bay's one every year, so I'm very dissapointed.

Summer comes only once a year. We should fully enjoy it!!

Rainy season

The rainy season has come in Japan. It's been raining a lot and it makes me a little down.
But the season is also necessary and precious for Japan, so I can't just blame it.
What do you think of when you hear the word 'Rainy season' in Japanese, 'Tsuyu'?
Hydrangea, snails, frogs....My friend gave me some hydrangea and I put it in a vase.
Looks nice,isn't it? I don't really like rainy season, but I like the flower^^


Come to think of it, it was raining everyday when I went to Ishigaki and Miyako islands, which are parts
of Okinawa. It wasn't rainy or typhoon season..The sun is always shining wherever I go, but maybe
the sky wasn't in a good mood^^;;
Still it was so beautiful and I will definitely go there again.
The picture below is the beach on Ishigaki island. The weather wasn't good, but look at the color of the water!! It should've been even more beautiful if it was sunny.
 
And this one is ...bla bla Cape..;; There was too many capes. I don't remember which one^^;

If you ever have a chance to go to Okinawa, you should check out Ishigaki and Miyako islands ,too^^
